The technical and logistics center for OIKEN is located in the Daval eco park. The site is characterized by its plain topography and its position in the heart of the Rhône valley between Mont Gond and Mont de la Dent de Nendaz. The area is still free from any construction. Man’s only intervention is to create an irrigation canal that runs along the project site and to cut up orchards as far as the eye can see. The site is magnificent and in a delicate balance. It should be transformed without denaturing it. The building is located almost North / South, along the future vehicle access route. All entrances to the Center are from this lane. The project is characterized by the expression of a compact form which is intended to be simple and easy to understand. It seeks to reduce its impact on the site as much as necessary. Without directly expressing the functions it houses, it asserts itself as a strong entity. The building stands out for its presence and character. Its facades are made up of panel and window modules that are repeated without distinction of program. They give the building a character of unity and coherence which responds both to the institution and to the various technical and logistical services it contains. The two large facades overlook the large landscape and the mountains. The building is composed of two volumes that stand out. A horizontal volume and a vertical volume placed on the latter. This emergence allows the Center to be seen from afar as a landmark in the area.
